START YOUR SOCIAL! DIME was host to the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix Social Media Summit on May 12 in the Acoustic Space. The conference gathered the social media teams from companies sponsoring the Grand Prix, happening downtown May 29-31. The teams discussed social media strategy and how they could best represent their companies during the race. Delicious food and drinks were catered in by Andiamo.

Special Guest! Grammy Award-Winning Blues Guitarist – Bobby Murray Comes to DIME

Bobby Murray
Bobby Murray is a Grammy award-winning blues and jazz guitarist who accompanied the legendary vocalist Etta James for more than two decades. He has also performed and recorded with B.B. King, Albert King, John Lee Hooker, Taj Mahal, and many more! He is the recipient of the Detroit Blues Society’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Bobby is an active force in the Detroit blues community, releasing his latest album I’m Sticking with You in 2013. Bobby and his band will be doing a Masterclass for DIME students this week!

JENA IRENE SIGNS TO ORIGINAL 1265

Internationally recognised singer-songwriter Jena Irene Ascuitto, better known as simply “Jena Irene” after a long run on the hit television show “American Idol”, has signed a long term record deal with DIME’s affiliate record label, Original 1265 Recordings. Jena Irene joins Detroit artists MPV and Charity, as well as British band Wildflowers on the 1265 roster.
