Kris Kurzawa – Guitar
One of the most sought after guitarists in Detroit, Kris has experience playing in a myriad of styles. Kurzawa earned a BA (2003) and MA (2012) in music and jazz studies from Wayne State University. For more than a decade, Kurzawa has taught guitar to various Detroit-area schools and, in 2011, he received his first of many Detroit Music Awards for Outstanding World Songwriter; in just five years, he’s garnered nine nominations and several wins from the Detroit Music Awards. Kurzawa’s guitar has backed the likes of Mulgrew Miller, Bob James, Walter White, Larry Carleton, David Sandborn, and many more.
