DIME recently had a visit from the team at Republic Records, including president Charlie Walk, Head of A&R Saint Harraway, and actor/music business mogul Nick Cannon. The group was able to tour the Detroit facilities, and watched performances by some of DIME’s talented students, as well as Original 1265 Recordings artists Jena Irene Asciutto, Charity, and Adventures with Vultures.
President Walk spoke with the students about the importance of Detroit in the history of the music industry, and shared his hopes of breaking an artist from DIME into the mainstream music charts.
Cannon also spoke to the group, speaking of the impressive culture and energy he found at DIME through the students and staff.
