Brad Russell – Bass

Brad Russell’s bass guitar has been rattling walls from LA to NYC, banging out basslines for legends of rock ‘n’ roll such as Joe Satriani, Clarence Clemons of the E Street Band, Steve Smith of Journey, Joe Walsh of the Eagles, and more. Before these gigs, Brad earned his Bachelor’s of Music at Sonoma State University, where he taught and studied jazz theory, double bass, and the electric bass. Later, at the University of Miami, Brad further honed his four-stringed skills, teaching jazz theory, the history of jazz, and earning his master’s degree in music. With two degrees and plenty of experience under his guitar strap, Russell headed to New York City to rumble the halls of Broadway’s biggest theaters. He regularly performed in Jersey Boys, Caroline or Change, Grease, and School of Rock. Brad Russell’s teaching chops go far beyond playing in School of Rock, though; prior to teaching at DIME, Russell taught at the Interlochen Center for the Arts, the Berklee College of Music, the Los Angeles College of Music, and the NYC Bass Collective. With his 20 years of recording experience, a myriad of stints on Broadway, studies in symphonic music, jazz, and rock ‘n’ roll, Brad Russell brings to DIME the kind of experience and success our students are trained to achieve.
